This is a similar resource to the Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook but primarily for US writers, with a few listings for UK and Canadian agents and publishers. There aren’t as many articles in here but you’ll still find information on editing, the basics of the business of writing, and submitting to agents. Unlike the UK guide, this one doesn’t address writing for visual media.

The guide does include listings for publishers, literary agents, and magazines, as well as contests, conferences, and workshops. There is also a list of professional organisations, which is nice to have all in one place.

You may need to do your due diligence, though, because some publishers aren’t completely traditional – that is, they charge for services you wouldn’t normally expect them to.

*This edition is from 2021. The last edition is from 2023 but it’s impossible to find. It seems that these books are no longer being printed so stock may be low, but you should still be able to buy the ebook.
